Mailbox FAQs for 2015

We have gotten a lot of questions about the Campus Post Office’s mailboxes from parents and students alike. The following questions are some of the more popular questions that we have been asked this summer. Q: If I send a package that doesn’t fit in the mailbox, what will happen to it?

A: It will be sent to the Campus Package Center at Brown Hall.

Q: How long will you hold packages?

A: For 7 Business days. After 7 business days, boxholder will be charged a $3/business day fee and after 14 business days, the item will be returned to sender.

Q: What will the address be?

A: Student’s Name, 115 Northgate Dr., PMB ####, University, MS, 38677

Q: How much is it for a box?

A:  $95 and it will be good until May 31

Q: Can someone receive mail on campus without a mailbox?

A: No, all students living on campus must have a mailbox to receive mail

Q: How will my student know they have mail?

A: Via text or email, students can set these up at the Campus Post Office and at the Campus Package Center

Q: What if my student doesn’t live in Crosby Hall, can they still get mail?

A: Yes, Crosby is the central location for Mailboxes. Packages are stored at Brown

Q: Is there a certain service I must send something through?

A: No, Pakmail accepts all services

Q: How would I set up a delivery (move in help)?

A: You can call the Campus Post Office at 662.915.2611

Q: Can I ship something to my student before school starts?

A: Yes, anything shipped before move in week will be moved to our storage location for delivery, however, you will have to ensure the student has been registered for our Move-in Help service.

Q: How will my student get a key?

A: After completing the paperwork for the mailbox at either the Campus Post Office or at Orientation

Q: When will I know what my box number is, and how will I know?

A: Pakmail will send out an automatic Email stating the box number and address

Q: How do I pay for this?

A: You can go online to Pakmailolemiss.com and use PayPal or call the CPO at 662.915.2611

Q: Does my student’s dorm room play a role in their address?

A: No, our address is completely different from any student’s dorm or room number.

Q: Can students share mailboxes?

A: No, our contract with The University of  Mississippi forbids mailbox sharing for multiple reasons.

Q: What IDs are acceptable for setting up the mailbox?

A: Our most popular forms of ID are Drivers License and an Ole Miss ID, however, it can be any form of ID. There are only 3 forms of ID that are banned and those include Social Security cards, Credit/debit cards, and Birth Certificates. Anything that falls outside of those forms of ID are acceptable.

Q: When can we get a key for our student?

A: During Orientation, we are open at Crosby Hall (Campus Post Office) from 9:30am-9pm on the first day of Orientation. On the second day, we are open from 9:30am-5:30pm. If you bring your student by with 2 forms of ID during those hours, you can get your key and you can avoid the lines in August.
